St. Hubert is the capital of the forests of the High Ardennes and of hunting

The St. Hubert Hound descends from hounds bred by St. Hubert, the patron saint of hunters. St. Hubert Hounds were brought to Britain in 1066 at the time of the Norman invasion, where they were used in packs to hunt stag.

Bloodhound is the name given by the English to the dogs of Saint-Hubert. The English completely transformed this old Belgian hunting dog. It is a tracking dog with an exceptional olfactory organ.

It is an imposing dog. Mournful looking with a wrinkled brow, its head is very characteristic. Their eyes and especially the disproportionate length of their ears distinguish them from the other breeds of hunting dogs. The chops are very long and hanging. He is big-boned. The breed's short coat in black and tan, red and tawny, or tawny, needs minimal care. The dog is approximately 65 cm high for a weight between 40 to 48 kg. Of a calm and soft nature, it can be very strong. It makes a loyal family pet and prefers country living.
